CAFOD FAMILY FAST DAY 3rd March
The world has many areas where people are experiencing the traumas that result from natural disasters. We recently had the shocking earthquake across Turkey and Syria and the support people gave to the disaster appeal has helped to provide shelter, food, water, and emergency medical assistance to people trying to recover in freezing temperatures.
Another area of the world that is suffering is Bangladesh where areas have had their crops destroyed by a series of cyclones and sea water flooding. It does not reach the worldwide coverage the media gives to other matters however the effect of the cyclones continues to trap many people in poverty. Your donations in support of the Lenten Family Fast on the 3rd March will help to fund the training of the young teenagers of Bangladesh in planting lots of different crops; how to build seed beds to protect against flooding and which tree to plant to shield the villages from cyclones. This is the training needed in Bangladesh for the new generation coming through to combat the climate change that will impact mostly on the poorest nations on our planet.
