Ordinary Time
We are now into the part of our liturgical year known as ‘Ordinary Time’. The word ‘ordinary’ in our common use implies something plain, unimpressive or unexciting. However, in the context of the Church’s year it means following the activities of Jesus’ public life through our Sunday worship and living our daily lives according to the example and teaching of Jesus. It is a time for each of us to mature in our faith and witness of the Risen Lord, each day being an opportunity to express our conversion in our daily routines. Far from being plain and unexciting, Ordinary Time means becoming an active disciple of Christ.
