DIOCESAN SAFEGUARDING TRAINING OFFICER
We are looking for a Safeguarding Training Officer who will be an integral
part of the Safeguarding Team and share in the responsibility to keep
children, young people and vulnerable adults safe.
The role will contribute to the development of and ensure the
implementation of the diocesan safeguarding training strategy across the
whole Diocese and will organise and deliver a rolling programme of
safeguarding training to a wide range of stakeholders including office
holders, employees and volunteers.
You should be a qualified, experienced professional who combines
experience of safeguarding work and training delivery with
approachability and a readiness to respond to a range of individuals across
the Diocese.
 Salary £28,500 – £30,639 (based on experience)
 Full time, 35 hours per week, or available part time as a job share
includes evening and/or weekend working for training delivery
 10% employer contribution to pension
 Generous holiday entitlement
 Based at Diocesan Church House in Rotherham but with hybrid
working from home

Carmel Care Centre, (a project of Hallam Caring Services) is looking for a volunteer kitchen assistant to take the lead in cooking for the Thursday lunch group (approximately 12 people).   
The role involves obtaining ingredients (paid for by the Centre) preparing and cooking a nutritious meal (shepherds pie, chili, stew etc), for those who use the Centre.  The expected hours for the role would be 10.00am-2.00pm.
 All expenses and appropriate food hygiene training will be provided.
 
For those who do not know about Carmel Care Centre, it was founded in 1986 by Fr. Hubert McNamara and Sr. Maire Morris, who recognised the need for support and counselling for people with addictions, emotional problems, social isolation and loneliness.
Based in Hillsborough, Sheffield the Centre has a christian ethos welcoming people from all backgrounds and beliefs.
The Centre has a team of dedicated volunteers who provide support, hospitality and administration.  Together with those who use the Centre, they create an environment where everyone’s contribution and presence is valued.  The Centre provides a supportive and comfortable space in which people can, individually and together, experience spiritual and emotional growth through sharing their life experiences.
People from all walks of life who are experiencing stress in their lives attend Carmel Care.  This may be caused by depression, anxiety, problem drinking or similar addictions, isolation, bereavement or simply the pressures of life.
The Centre does not require any referral and there is no charge to the user however, donations are welcome and gratefully received.
