This New Year is a Jubilee Year of Hope

This New Year is a Jubilee Year of Hope during which we are invited by the Holy Father to become pilgrims with hope by accepting the invitation to participate with the Holy Spirit in this world wide pilgrimage. Our Diocesan Pilgrim Passport issued last September has details of events being held around the diocese and gives an explanation as to what a spirituality of pilgrimage is about. You can also arrange your own pilgrimage which can be visits to local sites where you are helped in your prayer life. It could be a local walk, a quite moment in an empty church or perhaps copying Mary’s visit to Elizabeth, visit someone you have been saying you need to go and see. Let’s use our imaginations and attend some of the events highlighted in the Pilgrims Passport but remember it will only become a memorable year if we are willing to engage with it.
