Prepare for Lent

One of the exercises on offer during Lent is ‘Done For Lent’. This has run for a few years and has been very popular. You need to form a group among the people you know before Lent begins and have their agreement to read a given text from scripture each day for six days, think about it and pray about it and send ‘done’ each day to members of the group by whatever means of social media you share. This way you are accountable to one another. On the seventh day you message a short summary of what the scripture reading means to you in your daily life and share. However, you should not look at what other members of the group share until you have written your summary and shared. The people in your group could live on the same street or in different parts of the world. Social media unites you. I will send out the selected text on the parish watts app and Facebook every Thursday in Lent so you share within your group your insights on the Wednesday. Fr Desmond
